CMBD Events — At the Rio+20 Corporate Sustainability Forum

Rio de Janiero, 15-22 June 2012

These dates span the major business meetings, other side events and the Rio+20 Summit itself, from 15 to 22 June 2012.  CMBD Executive Director Katherine Hagen will be there to report on the overall theme for 2012 of business in development, with an emphasis on the balancing of the environmental pillar with the social and economic pillars of sustainable development that CMBD has been covering from its unique and cross-cutting perspective on the Geneva international scene.  Katherine has been invited to participate in the Global Compact Rio+20 Corporate Sustainability Forum: Innovation & Collaboration for the Future We Want.  The objective of the Rio+20 Corporate Sustainability Forum is to bring greater scale and quality to sustainability practices. It will precede the main UN Conference on Sustainable Development – Rio+20, where government leaders will convene to build consensus on a more sustainable course for the world. The business implications on the integration of human rights, health, intellectual property, trade, labour, science and technology for development, you name it – the range of topics is broad but the focus is targeted.   Katherine will be coordinating with CMBD member companies and their contributions to the events in Rio, and collaborating with the International Center for Trade and Sustainable Development.
